Children’s Advocacy Centers of Oswego County is an accredited local chapter of the National Children’s Alliance, the national umbrella organization for children’s advocacy centers dealing with child abuse.
The children’s advocacy movement began in the 1980s. Like the one here in Oswego County, each center is an independent center that provides services for abused children. We rely on our local businesses and community members for support.
By bringing together collaborative partners, such as local child protective services, law enforcement, prosecutors, and medical and mental health providers, CAC can make a positive difference in the lives of abused children. CAC helps by bringing professionals to the child instead of asking children and their families to access services through many different portals.
What does CAC provide?
- Victim and Family Advocacy
- Mental Health Counseling Program
- Forensic Interviewing
- Medical Evaluation
- Community Outreach and Education
- Multidisciplinary Team Investigations (MDT)
How can you help?
Donations can be made to help support our efforts. Your gift has the power to help ensure that children affected by child sexual abuse receive the best medical treatment, emotional support and family guidance possible.
Did you know that many employers will match charitable contributions made by their employees? Employer matching can double the impact of support.
